What that prize entails is pretty much up to the provider, though obviously the better the price offered then the more interest it will generate.

In a word, ADVERTISING. And to be honest, I consider it to be very cheap advertising !
With each competition you get...
1) The thread on the competiton board stating that you are offering the prize and people have to read it to enter anyway.
2) When the competition is confirmed, I send out a newsletter to all members informing them of the competition... details of the prize and prize provider are included in this mailing.
3) As you can see, there is a VERY large banner at the top of the forum pages announcing the competition provider, this banner not only shows on the op of all of the forum pages, but also on the www.PunterBook.com and www.PunterTwit.com pages.
These are all visible for the entire month of the competition which is why I consider it to be a great deal.
The provider gets excellent advertising exposure for little if any outlay and the punters get the chance of a FREE service. Surely a win/win situation ?
